Exploring my Hometown with a Camera

Georgetown: Sometimes Gloomy, Never Glum

My brother and I decided it was high time he saw Georgetown and I got more familiar with it. I have nothing but happy memories of shopping with girlfriends here, but on this gloomy weekday, I was wondering if one of Washington's best known neighborhoods would still have the same ambiance. It did, it was just different.

As school girls passed us right and left in the 'uniform of the day,' leggings and rain boots, to me it wasn't the people that stood out, it was the architecture. The wet streets seemed to bring out the color in the buildings, the detail in the moldings and the lines of the shops that lined the street. We explored the shops and ventured down to the Waterfront where I should have snapped that picture of the Kennedy Center.
